Merrick & Company is seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer for the Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing department in our Chattanooga, TN office. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and relocation consideration.

The ideal candidate will lead complex projects, develop electrical designs, and interact with clients and contractors on site. Requirements include 12+ years of electrical engineering experience in power/industrial sectors, a ABET-accredited Bachelor's in Electrical

Qualifications

• Minimum of twelve (12) years of electrical engineering experience in power, energy, oil and gas or related industrial processes.
• Experience developing one-line drawings, control schematics and wiring diagrams, equipment specs and power plans.
• Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC and related codes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT or other design software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college is required.
• PE License required.
• US Citizenship required for client projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead major or several projects with complex features.
• Develop electrical design documents and drawings.
• Analyze and review others’ work and monitor team performance.
• Design low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control, PLC/PAC, HMI and instrumentation.
• Interact with clients and officials and lead project meetings.
• Perform electrical calculations (voltage drop, short circuit, coordination, arc flash, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting, grounding).
• Develop equipment specifications and datasheets (transformers, switchgear, MCCs).
• Travel to client sites for field walk downs and as-built efforts.
