Job summary

Peterson Technology Partners (PTP) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and technical execution of power-generation and energy-infrastructure EPC projects in Birmingham, AL.

You will design medium- and high-voltage systems, develop diagrams and layouts, perform fault studies, review vendor proposals, and support commissioning. A BS in EE and 8+ years in industrial/power/EPC environments are required; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

BS Electrical Engineering degree.
8+ years of electrical engineering experience.
Experience in industrial, power or EPC projects.
Knowledge of medium/high-voltage power distribution.
Familiar with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA and ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

Design medium- and high-voltage electrical systems.
Develop one-line and three-line diagrams.
Create equipment and substation layouts.
Design grounding, lighting and cable systems.
Develop MCC and protective relay systems.
Perform load-flow, short-circuit and arc-flash studies.
Develop equipment specifications.
Review vendor proposals and drawings.
Support FAT/SAT, commissioning and startup.
