Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Active PE license (Alabama) or ability to reciprocity; additional licensure preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial/heavy facilities.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, and control systems design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with analysis tools ETAP/SKM or similar is a plus.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Commitment to licensure maintenance including continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations, load analysis, and system sizing for electrical power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Review, approve, and seal engineering designs, drawings, and calculations per codes and standards.
• Develop technical specifications for equipment and installation.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate electrical systems into broader project designs.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and construction teams to ensure project requirements are met.
• Conduct and document site visits, inspections, and as-built verifications as needed.
• Provide technical leadership and final review of engineering deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.

This role has direct responsibility for engineering quality, design decisions, and stamped deliverables, and is ideal for someone with 4+ years of experience, a passion for practical problem-solving, and the ability to guide projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering calculations, load analysis, and system sixing for electrical power distribution, lighting, and control systems
• Review, approve, and seal engineering designs, drawings, and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Develop technical specifications for equipment and installation
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into broader project designs
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and construction teams to ensure project requirements are met

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of electrical engineering experience, ideally in industrial or heavy facility environments
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, and control systems design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, or similar) is a plus
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Commitment to maintaining licensure in good standing, including continuing education requirements
