Job summary

Peterson Technology Partners (PTP) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and technical execution of power-generation and energy-infrastructure EPC projects in Birmingham, AL.

You will design medium- and high-voltage systems, develop diagrams and layouts, perform fault studies, review vendor proposals, and support commissioning. A BS in EE and 8+ years in industrial/power/EPC environments are required; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical Engineering degree.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in industrial, power or EPC projects.
• Knowledge of medium/high-voltage power distribution.
• Familiar with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA and ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

Our Client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical design and technical execution of power-generation and energy-infrastructure EPC projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage electrical systems
• Develop one-line and three-line diagrams
• Develop equipment and substation layouts
• Design grounding, lighting and cable systems
• Develop MCC and protective relay systems
• Perform/review load-flow, short-circuit and arc-flash studies
• Develop equipment specifications
• Review vendor proposals and drawings
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning and startup

Required

• BS Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years electrical engineering experience
• Industrial, power or EPC experience
• Medium/high-voltage power distribution knowledge
• NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA and ANSI knowledge

Preferred

• PE license
• Simple/combined-cycle experience
• ETAP, SKM or EasyPower
• AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks

Rate: $60/hr- $80/hr (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with consultants expected to work 40 hours a week.
