Job summary

Planet Group is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to lead and oversee electric substation design projects across the United States. This 100% remote role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients, with travel only as needed for site visits and meetings.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years for Senior Engineer I, 10+ for II, or 15+ with PE, and a strong background in equipment layouts, grounding, lightning protection, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, NEC).
• Experience with substation physical design and equipment layouts.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for substation projects.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers and designers.
• Coordinate design activities across disciplines and with clients.
• Prepare equipment layouts, grounding, lightning protection, and cable routing deliverables.
• Review drawings and deliverables for quality and constructability.
• Support construction and project planning, including field visits.
