Job summary

Astronics CSC in Waukegan, IL is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to bridge development and production lifecycles.

You will transfer designs into manufacturing, ensure regulatory testing, and support production changes from the lab to the line. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with Altium Designer, and ability to drive production-ready documentation and verification activities onsite in Illinois.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering from an accredited program; minimum 10 years of experience.
• ECAD experience for schematic capture and layout; Altium Designer preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience supporting electrical designs in production to resolve production issues.
• Software experience in languages/environments such as C/C++, Python, Linux, Bash, Arduino, Raspberry Pi.

Responsibilities

• Complete PCBA level design including BOM management, revision control, configuration management, hardware bring-up/debug, and issue tracking.
• Familiarity with multilayer PCBs including high-speed up to 10 Gbps, wireless modules, MCUs/MPUs, power management, and serial interfaces.
• Product verification and testing; develop tests, reports, and scripts.
• Select and use test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, meters).
• Provide direction to Engineering Technicians and support PCBA assembly, rework, and changes.
