Job summary

Astronics Connectivity Systems & Certification (Astronics CSC) seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer, Production Support in Illinois to move designs from development into production and to support regulatory testing.

You will verify designs, generate tests and scripts, and help scale manufacturing while mentoring junior staff. Onsite role with occasional travel up to 25% to labs and suppliers; requires strong PCB design, Altium, and production problem solving to improve processes and meet quality

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering from an accredited university with 10+ years of experience.
• ECAD experience for schematic capture and layout, preferably Altium Designer.
• Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Experience supporting production electrical designs and debugging production issues.
• Proficient in C/C++, Python, Linux, Bash, Arduino, Raspberry Pi for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design multilayer PCBs with high-speed interfaces up to 10Gbps.
• Support production transition and regulatory testing.
• Mentor interns and junior engineers; lead engineering activities.
• Coordinate with Ukraine engineers and CAD specialists.
• Develop tests, reports, and programming/scripts for verification.
• Operate test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, meters).
• Support ISO/AS9100 processes and internal audits.
