Job summary

Hatch Product Development & Contract Manufacturing in Wauconda, IL seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead development of complex electrical systems and PCBAs from concept through production. This hands-on role requires driving innovative solutions, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electronic design, strong Altium skills, DFx knowledge, and a track record of delivering manufacturable systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
5+ years designing, developing, testing electronic systems and PCBAs.
Proficiency in Altium Designer and schematic/PCB layout.
Experience leading technical projects from concept through production.
Knowledge of design for manufacturability and component selection.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, and validation of complex electronic systems, PCBAs, and embedded hardware solutions from concept through production.
Serve as technical lead on multiple concurrent projects, providing engineering direction and decision-making.
Develop electrical architectures, schematics, PCB layouts, and design documentation.
Perform circuit analysis, system integration, testing, debugging, and root-cause investigations.
Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, quality, and project management teams.
Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and engineering evaluations.
Research, evaluate, and select electronic components and design approaches to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability.
Support prototype builds, verification testing, and design transfer activities with manufacturing teams.
