Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer II (P.E.) in Houston, TX to act as technical authority on complex commercial infrastructure and building systems, with relocation assistance and a clear path to technical leadership.

The role requires leading design, calculations and specs, coordinating with civil, mechanical, and environmental disciplines, and providing construction oversight. A PE credential and relocation support are provided.

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) credential required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 10 to 15 years of engineering design and project management experience, specifically with MEP and Fire Prevention systems in the commercial sector.
• Proven ability to lead large or complex engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, technical development, detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications for complex commercial projects.
• Oversee the cohesive integration of electrical systems alongside civil, mechanical, structural, and environmental disciplines.
• Perform quality control reviews at key milestones, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide engineering oversight during construction—including site visits and submittal reviews.
• Mentor junior engineering staff, partner with multidisciplinary teams and clients, and manage project schedules, resources, and budgets.
