Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation in Mount Pleasant, WI is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Senior Analyst) to lead development and sustaining support of motors for residential disposers. The role emphasizes performance, cost, quality, and energy efficiency across electrical systems.

You will collaborate cross-functionally, manage DFMEA and test plans, and ensure motor designs meet global standards while working onsite in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in motor design, selection, and validation for consumer products.
• Hands-on experience with motor testing equipment and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system development and validation for new and existing disposer products.
• Provide ongoing technical support to manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and optimize assembly processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to develop specifications, drawings, and validation plans.
• Conduct performance, reliability, and durability testing, analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Work with Advanced Development, NPD and Sustaining teams to ensure motor designs meet performance targets.
• Manage DFMEA and test plan creation for all electrical systems and motors.
• Define and optimize motor sizing, torque, and speed characteristics based on system performance requirements.
• Drive motor technology selection and standardization across platforms.
• Laad simulation-based analysis to validate torque, current, and temperature performance under different load conditions.
• Benchmark competitor products and identify opportunities for cost, quality, and innovation improvement.
• Support resolution of field and quality issues, identify root causes, and define permanent corrective actions.
