Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer (Senior Analyst) for the InSinkErator Business Unit in Mount Pleasant, WI. This onsite role leads development and sustaining support of motors for residential food waste disposers, driving performance, cost, quality and energy efficiency improvements across electrical systems.

The role requires deep expertise in electromechanical systems, cross-functional collaboration, and structured problem solving to ensure Whirlpool products

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 5+ years of engineering experience for consumer products.
• Strong background in motor design and validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system development and validation for new and existing disposer products.
• Provide ongoing technical support to manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and optimize assembly processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to develop specifications, drawings, and validation plans.
• Conduct performance, reliability, and durability testing, analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Work with Advanced Development, NPD and Sustaining teams to ensure motor designs meet performance targets.
• Manage DFMEA and test plan creation for all electrical systems and motors.
• Define and optimize motor sizing, torque, and speed characteristics based on system requirements.
• Drive motor technology selection and standardization across platforms.
• Benchmark competitor products and identify opportunities for cost, quality, and innovation improvement.
• Support resolution of field and quality issues, identify root causes, and define permanent corrective actions.
