Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Dallas, TX seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design teams across diverse projects including power, healthcare, airports, and industrial facilities. You will guide design through concept to construction, ensure compliance with ANSI/IEEE standards and client needs, and manage budgets and schedules.

You will mentor engineers, review vendor drawings, prepare specifications, and present technical reports. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years EPC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and electrical equipment design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading discipline design for large projects and delegating tasks.
• Willingness to travel.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept through design completion per project needs and PM guidance.
• Prepare electrical equipment specs, RFQs, bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Develop project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning; manage change orders.
• Quality review production drawings and CAD-related outputs.
• Coordinate field inspections, tests, and resolve installation issues.
• Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
• Develop client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
• Lead cost proposals and qualification statements to meet financial targets.
• Prepare project budgets and report performance.
