Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Dallas seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design teams for power, process, healthcare and industrial projects. You will guide the electrical design from concept to construction, review vendor data, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor junior engineers.

Strong communication and leadership are essential for coordinating with clients and other disciplines. The role requires ABET-accredited education with 7+ years EPC experience or an FE with 7 years; PE license

Qualifications

• ABET degree with 7+ years EPC experience; FE exam completion may substitute as noted.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and electrical equipment design.
• Proven leadership of discipline design for large projects and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Prepare electrical equipment specs, data sheets, RFQs and bid recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Develop project scope, schedule, budget and staffing plans; manage change orders.
• Quality review drawings and conduct construction administration coordination with field personnel.
• Lead field inspections, measurements and calculations for projects; build client relationships.
