Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer and Office Leader in Austin, TX to shape electrical infrastructure for advanced semiconductor facilities. You will lead and mentor engineering teams, drive design across LV/MV power systems, perform critical power studies, and coordinate with multidisciplinary groups to meet project objectives.

You will represent the firm with clients and stakeholders, guide internal practices, and contribute to the growth of the office in a fast-growing technology

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
• Provide technical leadership and day-to-day oversight to internal electrical engineering project teams, ensuring creation of coordinated, high-quality construction documents
• Lead design of comprehensive LV/MV power distribution systems including MV switchgear, substation design and coordination, MV/LV transformers, MCCs, busway distribution, and critical power pathways
• Guide integration of electrical design with a multidisciplinary team for coordination, constructability and performance
• Perform and oversee power system studies using SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower including short circuit analysis, coordination studies, arc flash analysis and labeling, load flow, harmonic analysis, motor starting studies
• Lead peer reviews and QA/QC checks with focus on power distribution topology, coordination, arc flash mitigation, and NEC 110-compliant clearances
• Mentor junior and mid-level electrical engineers in LV/MV distribution design, power system analysis, cleanroom electrical, semiconductor standards
• Stay current with evolving codes, standards and technologies
• Lead development and maintenance of electrical standards, master specs, templates and study protocols
