Job summary

SSOE seeks a Senior Process Engineer and Office Leader to shape process utility infrastructure for leading semiconductor facilities and guide the Austin office's growth and culture. You will mentor teams, build client partnerships, and represent the firm in a design‑build environment.

Responsibilities include UPW and gas distribution design, hydraulic modeling, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration to ensure purity, safety, and performance, while enabling strategic business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited program.
• PE license preferred; active in good standing in the U.S. with reciprocity as needed is highly valued.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience, with a strong and demonstrated focus on semiconductors, advanced high‑tech industrial, cleanroom, or similarly complex process utility design.
• Proven leadership in managing and guiding internal process engineering design teams through all project phases within a design‑build delivery model.
• Demonstrated experience fostering an inclusive team culture and a commitment to mentoring and developing technical professionals.
• Experience with projects that demonstrate thoughtful, code‑compliant, and technically precise process system designs for semiconductor, high‑tech, or comparable mission‑critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver process engineering design across large-scale semiconductor projects.
• Provide day-to-day oversight of project teams and develop high-quality design documents.
• Lead design of UPW, gas, and chemical distribution systems.
• Oversee hydraulic calculations, piping analysis, and pipe stress validation.
• Mentor engineers and foster knowledge sharing within the office.
• Represent the firm to clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
