Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Richland, WA is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a hybrid work arrangement, blending home and office collaboration. The role focuses on electrical design engineering for multi-disciplinary project teams and will produce calculations, site plans, one-line diagrams, and related specifications.

Ideal candidates will have a BSEE or MSEE from an ABET-accredited program, 5+ years of electrical engineering experience (preferably in a nuclear environment), and familiarity

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 5+ years electrical engineering experience, preferably nuclear.
• Experience with low-medium voltage distribution and instrumentation wiring.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL508 codes and IES Lighting Handbook.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical design efforts on multi-discipline project teams.
• Produce engineering calculations, analyses and reports.
• Prepare design inputs for drawings: site plans, power/lighting, one-line diagrams, conduit/wire schedules.
• Apply electrical engineering to design and qualification of structures, systems, components.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
