Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced Electrical Team Lead in Richland, WA to design, analyze, and implement electrical systems for nuclear processing and power plants. The role combines office work with project coordination across disciplines while adhering to safety, codes, and client requirements.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with vendors, perform complex calculations, and guide teams through all design phases in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen; dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
• BSEE degree required; MSEE preferred.
• Ability to obtain DOE Q clearance.
• Able to obtain U.S. government security clearance.
• 12+ years in electrical systems design for power/DOE/nuclear contexts.
• 3+ years leading an engineering design team.
• Experience with LV distribution, transformers, generators, motors, and communications.
• Experience as client liaison and in reviewing drawings.

Responsibilities

• Act as Electrical team lead for detailed design phases.
• Lead projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate systems design to meet specifications and codes.
• Prepare detailed electrical calculations (arc flash, voltage drop, fault current, lighting).
• Prepare drawings input for master diagrams and schematics.
• Interface with vendors for equipment specifications.
• Prepare reports and studies per client requirements and S&L formats.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and share knowledge.
• Lead automation/AI discussions to improve workflows.
