Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a design engineer for a hybrid role in Richland, WA, focusing on electrical engineering within a nuclear environment. You will contribute to multidisciplinary teams, produce calculations, and prepare design inputs for drawings and specifications.

The ideal candidate has a BSEE/MSEE from ABET-accredited program, 5+ years of experience, and familiarity with NEC/UL508, arc flash, and lighting analysis software. DOE/NNSA project exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
Essential skills include electrical design for multi-disciplined teams.
Experience with low to medium voltage distribution and instrumentation wiring.
Familiarity with NEC, UL508, IES Lighting Handbook.
Ability to learn load flow/arc flash software (ETAP/SKM).
Ability to learn lighting analysis software (Visual/AGI32).

Responsibilities

Support electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
Produce engineering calculations/analyses and engineering reports.
Prepare design inputs for drawings: site plans, power/lighting plans, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams.
Apply electrical engineering to design and qualification of structures, systems, components.
Produce procurement and construction specifications.
Attend project meetings and field walk downs.
Provide guidance as a mentor to less experienced engineers.
