Job summary

IMEG in Reno, NV is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for building projects. You will collaborate with engineers and consultants to deliver engineering solutions, manage project budgets, and mentor staff while ensuring code compliance and safety.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and a PE license, with 7–8 years in building design consulting. Travel up to 20% and sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• PE License required
• 7–8 years of building design consulting experience
• Knowledge of IES standards and NFPA references
• Master Specification editing with eSPECS; proficiency in Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
• Ability to mentor, train, and lead others
• Strong communication and collaboration across disciplines
• Willingness to travel up to 20%
• Not eligible for sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for electrical systems in moderate to complex building projects
• Develop detailed designs, specs, and calculations per code and IMEG standards
• Perform site assessments and prepare analyses and reports
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information
• Conduct in-process QC of designs, calculations and project correspondence
• Provide technical assistance for field issues and mentor staff
• Stay current with industry trends and contribute to innovation
• Prioritize safety and mitigate risks in electrical systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project interviews and presentations
