Job summary

IMEG is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer in Idaho Falls, ID with opportunities in Sacramento, CA and Reno, NV. You will lead design efforts for building electrical systems, collaborate with senior staff, and deliver innovative solutions for mid‑ to high‑complexity projects.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and a PE license, with 2+ years of building design experience (4 preferred). Proficiency with industry software and a willingness to travel up to 10% are expected.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
PE license is required.
Minimum 2 years in building design consulting; 4 years preferred.
Proficiency in design techniques and producing technical plans and specs.
Strong technical skills in circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics for buildings.
Experience with lighting calculations and energy compliance software (e.g., AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, SKM/ETW, Easy Power, ComCheck).
Familiarity with NFPA, IES Standards, and BIM tools (Revit, eSPECS).
Excellent communication and ability to mentor staff.
Willingness to travel up to 10% and not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Lead design efforts for electrical systems on projects; prepare designs, specs, and calculations.
Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information.
Support project execution including planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines.
Document design decisions and monitor progress and budget.
Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to IMEG standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phases.
