Hitachi Energy in Raleigh, North Carolina, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) team within the North America Grid Integration Business Unit. You will lead electrical engineering activities across multi-project scopes, coordinating with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust grid modernization solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BS, MS, or PhD) required.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and ANSI/IEEE standards.
• Experience with FACTS, STATCOM, power quality, or utility transmission projects preferred.
• Knowledge of high-voltage substations and utility engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities across multiple projects and phases.
• Develop innovative solutions while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Design and execute projects per customer requirements and standards (FACTS, NEC, ANSI, IEEE).
• Prepare and review engineering documentation (specifications, RFPs, manufacturing packs, as-builts).
• Support project planning with scope, cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to drive project success.
• Review supplier deliverables, evaluate vendors, and support procurement of electrical equipment.
