Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) team in North America. You will lead electrical engineering activities across multi-project programs, deliver innovative power-quality and FACTS solutions, and ensure compliance with NEC/ANSI/IEEE standards while collaborating with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering required.
7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of NEC and ANSI/IEEE standards.
Experience with FACTS, STATCOM, power quality, or utility transmission projects preferred.
Knowledge of high-voltage substations and utility engineering practices.
Experience with GIS substations, protection and control systems, and electrical schematics a plus.
Excellent technical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities across multiple projects and phases.
Develop innovative solutions while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Design and execute projects per customer requirements and applicable standards.
Prepare and review specifications, RFPs, manufacturing packages, and as-built drawings.
Support project planning through scope, cost, schedule, and risk management.
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
Review supplier deliverables and support procurement of equipment and materials.
Provide technical support during testing, installation, commissioning, and startup.
Coordinate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams for seamless execution.
Drive continuous improvement of processes, quality, and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
