Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Raleigh, NC seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead multi-project electrical design and delivery across FACTS, transmission assets, and power quality initiatives.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop technical solutions, review specifications, and support testing, commissioning, and start-up activities while ensuring compliance with NEC/ANSI/IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and ANSI/IEEE standards.
• Experience with FACTS, STATCOM, power quality, or utility transmission projects preferred.
• Knowledge of high-voltage substations and utility engineering practices.
• Experience with GIS substations, protection and control systems, and electrical schematics is a plus.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities across multiple projects and project phases.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Design and execute projects in accordance with customer requirements and applicable standards.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation, including specs, RFPs, manufacturing packages, and as-built drawings.
• Support project planning through scope definition, cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to drive project success.
• Review supplier deliverables, evaluate vendors, and support procurement of electrical equipment and materials.
• Provide technical support during testing, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, quality, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
