Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Programs Team with opportunities to work from Arlington, VA; VA Beach, VA; San Antonio, TX; Dallas, TX; Tacoma, WA; Seattle, WA or Denver, CO. You will lead electrical design efforts for facilities and infrastructure across multiple locations.

You will mentor engineers, develop plans and specifications, and coordinate with government and clients to ensure compliant, high-quality outcomes. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of post-education electrical engineering design experience.
  • Professional Engineering registration.
  • US citizenship required by client.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 780 and related codes.
  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Proficiency with SKM Power Tools, Easy Power, and ETAP.
  • Agi32 or Elum proficiency.
  • SpecsIntact or MasterSpec proficiency.
  • RS Means Costworks proficiency.
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project proficiency.
  • Experience with inspections and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication and leadership with clients and teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead senior-level electrical engineering projects and supervise electrical staff.
  • Develop construction plans, specs, cost estimates, and basis of design for facilities and infrastructure.
  • Involved from project inception to completion including new and renovation work.
  • Coordinate with Government and clients to ensure design and construction oversight.
  • Review permits, plans, specs, and inspections for compliance with codes and standards.
  • Meet with entities to discuss electrical/engineering challenges and programs.
  • Provide guidance and leadership with minimal supervision; QA/QC adherence.
  • Define project requirements with clients and planning teams.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and with external stakeholders on Federal, State, and local projects.
  • Travel to project sites, government offices and manufacturers as required.
  • Mentor staff on design of lighting, power, grounding, lightning protection, and signaling systems.
  • Incorporate future-ready techniques and design strategies for safety and functionality.
