Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Programs Team, with opportunities to work from various locations including Arlington, VA. You will lead electrical design efforts, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and oversee projects from inception to completion.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of post-education experience, PE license, and deep knowledge of NFPA standards, codes, and QA/QC processes, with strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
  • 10+ years of relevant post-education electrical engineering experience on capital projects.
  • Professional Engineering registration (PE).
  • US citizenship required due to client requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations and compliance practices.
  • Expert knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 780.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • PROficIENT with SKM, Easy Power, ETAP, Agi32/Elum, SpecsIntact/MasterSpec, RS Means.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior engineering leadership within the MEP discipline team.
  • Develop construction plans, specs, cost estimates and basis of design.
  • Lead design and construction oversight from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate with government, other disciplines and vendors.
  • Review permits, plans and contracts for compliance.
  • Meet with stakeholders to discuss electrical/engineering challenges.
  • Mentor junior to mid-level engineers and designers.
  • Collaborate across disciplines on complex facility projects.
