Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Generation) to join our Power & Energy team in Overland Park, KS. The role includes leadership across multiple sites, from design through construction, covering power plants and related infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in power engineering, a PE license, and deep knowledge of standards (IEEE/NECA/IEC). Expect collaboration with utilities, regulators, and clients to deliver safe, compliant projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and PE license required.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in power generation design.
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NEMA, IEC regulations and design.
• Experience with gas turbine/HRSG and power plant infrastructure.
• Ability to lead projects, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review electrical design plans for complex power plant projects.
• Lead scopes from preliminary design to commissioning support.
• Oversee electrical drawings and equipment specifications.
• Mentor team members and manage project budgets and hours.
• Engage with clients, vendors, and regulators to address requirements.
