Job summary

Merrick & Company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing team. This full-time role supports projects across multiple offices with a hybrid work schedule and potential relocation assistance.

Responsibilities include leading projects, developing electrical designs, performing calculations, and coordinating with clients and teams to meet project goals. Requires 12+ years in electrical engineering, PE license, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Requires 12+ years of electrical engineering experience in power/industrial processing industries.
• Proficient in creating one-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, power plans, conduit plans, and cable schedules.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC codes and standards.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word; familiarity with AutoCAD/REVIT.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program; PE license required; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects or major project components with complex features.
• Develop electrical design documents and drawings.
• Analyze and approve others' work and monitor project progress.
• Design low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motors, PLC/PAC, HMIs, process equipment, and instrumentation.
• Interact with clients and stakeholders; lead meetings and presentations.
• Perform electrical calculations (voltage drop, short circuit, coordination, arcing flash, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting, grounding).
• Develop equipment specifications and datasheets (transformers, switchgear, MCCs).
• Travel to client sites for field walk downs and as-builts.
• Manage resources to meet project estimates; coordinate with Design/Engineering Managers to meet schedules.
