Jacobs seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a senior technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale and mission-critical facilities across the United States. You will steer electrical strategy from utility interconnection through the IT load, providing guidance, independent reviews, and mentorship to project teams.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program; Master's degree preferred.
• PE License (Required) Active Electrical PE license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with ability to obtain additional state licenses as required; NCEES record strongly preferred.
• Experience: 15–20+ years in professional electrical engineering with data centers or high-reliability facilities.
• Critical Power: Expertise in MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generator plants and paralleling, UPS systems.
• Power Analysis: Experience with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower for studies.
• Codes & Standards: Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110, IEEE 1584 and related standards.
• Leadership & Delivery: Ability to lead with clients and multi-disciplinary teams; experience in EPCM/EPC/Design-Build environments.
• Travel: Up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture decisions from utility service through IT load.
• Provide senior technical leadership for distribution, transformers, switchgear, and UPS systems.
• Review load flow, short-circuit, protective coordination, arc-flash, and grounding studies.
• Offer independent design governance across project teams and global delivery resources.
• Support project execution from conception to commissioning and turnover.
• Provide FAT/SAT/ IST support for critical-power systems.
