Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for an onsite Melbourne, FL role focused on servicing and advancing CNS avionics hardware. You will lead complex hardware design efforts, work with cross-functional teams, and guide integration, qualification, and lifecycle support for sustaining and new programs.

The ideal candidate has strong schematics/layout experience, embedded and RF expertise, and a track record of delivering high‑reliability aerospace hardware under DO‑254/DO‑160

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM or advanced degree with relevant experience
• US person status required for military contract
• Experience generating schematics and board layouts
• Embedded processors and RF systems experience
• Hands-on debugging and testing of complex electrical hardware
• Expertise in at least one electrical discipline (digital, analog, mixed-signal, power, RF)

Responsibilities

• Interpret and update complex electrical schematics, layouts, and drawings
• Document hardware requirement changes and manage baselines
• Design, analyze, test, qualify and document hardware across ECOs
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing engineering
• Apply Collins processes to ensure quality and customer satisfaction
• Support integration, pre-qualification, and qualification testing
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshoot production issues
• Assist in engineering estimates and bid/schedule development
• Act as SME in at least one hardware domain
• Support LRU development activities and obsolescence management
• Review defects, identify root causes, and propose improvements
• Escalate technical issues to project leadership
