Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and maintain computer hardware for avionics systems. This onsite role emphasizes analog/RF and digital circuit design, obsolescence management, and hands-on troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include PCB layout supervision, validation, and collaboration on design improvements, with focus on performance and reliability in aerospace hardware.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain awareness of obsolete parts.
  • Provide appropriate resolution to obsolete parts.
  • Design and analyze analog and RF circuits using schematic capture tools and performance simulation tools.
  • Characterize analog and RF signals using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Design and analyze digital circuits including computer hardware components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces), and their performance characteristics.
  • Provide supervision and technical guidance for PCB layout.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.
  • Perform validation and verification activities to ensure products meet design specifications.
  • Contribute to engineering estimates for limited to moderate scope of electrical design problems.
  • Review LRU defects trends, identify systemic root causes and process improvements and recommend new approaches, tools, and techniques that drive continuous improvements in the development processes.
  • Use your excellent written and verbal communication for technical documentation and collaboration.
