Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for automotive and industrial facility projects. You will serve as Engineer of Record, directing power distribution, coordination studies, and equipment integration from concept through commissioning.

The role requires a PE license or eligibility, 8+ years of industrial electrical experience, and strong client-facing project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial facilities.
• 10+ years for senior level consideration.
• Experience with automotive, battery manufacturing, and other industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution, MCCs, switchgear, VFDs, grounding.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of electrical systems for automotive, manufacturing, battery, and industrial facility projects.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and technical lead on projects of varying complexity.
• Develop electrical power distribution systems from utility service through facility networks.
• Prepare and review diagrams, power plans, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and lighting systems.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, controls, structural, and architecture teams.
• Support facility expansion, modernization, and greenfield projects.
• Interface with clients to understand requirements and provide recommendations.
• Lead design reviews, quality reviews, and constructability assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; support business development.
