Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and execution of electrical systems for automotive and industrial facility projects across diverse locations, including Birmingham, AL. You will serve as Engineer of Record, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and guide power distribution from utility service through facility networks.

The role requires extensive electrical expertise, PE licensure (or ability to obtain), and a track record in automotive/battery

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.
8+ years of electrical engineering experience; 10+ years for senior level.
Experience in automotive, battery manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, consumer products, food & beverage, or related industrial facilities.
Strong understanding of facility electrical infrastructure including medium- and low-voltage systems, MCCs, switchgear, and coordination studies.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of electrical systems for automotive, manufacturing, battery, and industrial facility projects.
Serve as Engineer of Record and technical lead on projects of varying complexity and size.
Develop electrical power distribution systems from utility service through facility distribution networks.
Prepare and review diagrams, power plans, equipment layouts, and cable schedules.
Coordinate with process, mechanical, controls, structural, civil, and architecture teams.
Mentor junior engineers and designers and support business development efforts.
