The ideal candidate has 6+ years in oil & gas, a degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, and strong knowledge of electrical power systems, pipelines, pump stations, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 6+ years of engineering experience within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong understanding of U.S. oil & gas regulatory requirements, codes, and industry standards.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems, power system modeling, pipeline operations, pump stations, terminal facilities, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and technical support for Liquids Pipeline operations across the U.S.
• Lead technical discussions and resolve complex electrical engineering and operational issues.
• Support pipeline facility expansion, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Ensure engineering designs and projects comply with company standards, industry specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive electrical system reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor, develop, and provide technical guidance to Operations Engineering team members.
• Identify and advance opportunities to implement new technologies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. regulatory requirements, electrical codes, petroleum-sector standards, and company policies.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and other technical teams.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering support for Liquids Pipeline (LP) operations and pipeline/facility capital projects across the United States.

This position will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, operational integrity, and regulatory compliance of critical pipeline infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with electrical power systems, pipeline operations, pump stations, terminal facilities, and U.S. oil & gas industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and technical support for Liquids Pipeline operations across the U.S.
• Lead technical discussions and resolve complex electrical engineering and operational issues.
• Support pipeline facility expansion, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Ensure engineering designs and projects comply with company standards, industry specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive electrical system reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support Engineering Services initiatives aligned with strategic objectives and the Long Range Planning (LRP) cycle.
• Mentor, develop, and provide technical guidance to Operations Engineering team members and technical specialists.
• Identify, evaluate, and advance opportunities to implement new technologies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. regulatory requirements, electrical codes, petroleum-sector standards, and company policies.
• Manage regulatory information requests, inspections, and audits.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and other technical teams.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, integrity, inclusion, respect, and high performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
• 6+ years of engineering experience within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong understanding of U.S. oil & gas regulatory requirements, codes, and industry standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge of:
• Electrical power systems
• Power system modeling
• Pipeline operations
• Pump stations
• Terminal facilities
• Pipeline/facility electrical infrastructure
• Strong technical problem-solving and engineering judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
• Power Engineering focus or background.
• Experience with electrical engineering for pump stations, terminals, and pipeline facilities.
• Experience with SKM or similar electrical power system modeling software.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Visio, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience mentoring engineers or technical specialists.

Physical Requirements

The position may require:

• Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.
• Standing, walking, reaching above shoulder level, and repetitive motion.
• Grasping and kneeling.
• Light to moderate lifting of objects up to approximately 20 pounds.
• Ability to read fine print, view computer screens, and distinguish color coding.
• Ability to communicate effectively by telephone and in person.

Working Conditions

• Primarily office-based with some field/site exposure.
• Approximately 10–15% travel may be required.
• PPE may be required when visiting pipeline, facility, or other worksite locations.
