Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering invites applications for Lead Level Electrical Designer to oversee the electrical design for power generation EPC projects. You will lead a design team, manage raceway systems, and coordinate with construction to ensure safe, cost-effective outcomes across multiple offices.

Location flexibility includes Lenexa, Lone Tree, Houston, Raleigh, Phoenix/Tempe, New York City, and Woodcliff Lake, with the role focused on delivering high-quality, constructible designs on schedule

Qualifications

• At least 8 years’ experience in electrical design.
• Experience leading electrical design teams.
• Experience managing budget and schedule.
• Experience in SmartPlant 3D.
• Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment.
• Ability to work in a growing, adaptive and multi-discipline team environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing a group of electrical designers in the development of electrical raceway systems.
• Responsible for managing electrical design activities against project schedule and budget.
• Tracks and reports on design progression to project management and other members of the project.
• Completes monthly reports for quantities, schedule and forecasting.
• Interface with construction to ensure design is safe, constructible, and low cost.
• Coordinates with other disciplines, engineers and construction on the design.
• Ability to check design deliverables for accuracy, quality and adherence to department standards.
• Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes.
• Coordinates with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions.
• Completes miscellaneous tasks to support project development.
• Acts as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues.
