Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering seeks a Mid Level Lead Electrical Designer to support EPC project design for power generation. You will lead a design team, develop electrical raceway systems, and coordinate with engineering and construction through the project life cycle.

This role emphasizes constructability, safety, and cost effectiveness, with strong NEC knowledge and 3D modeling using SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD, or MicroStation. Office locations include Lone Tree, CO and other major offices.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience in electrical design.
• Power generation experience preferred.
• Experience in SmartPlant 3D.
• Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Experience designing cable tray from concept to completion.
• Experience in grounding systems.
• Experience utilizing the NEC.
• 3D conceptualization ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language.

Responsibilities

• Design cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion.
• Size conduits and cable trays per NEC requirements.
• Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule.
• Layout electrical equipment in electrical buildings.
• Develops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills.
• Check 3D models for interferences and constructability.
• Size pull boxes according to NEC requirements.
• Design and draft intermediate electrical drawings.
• Work with limited direction applying standard designs.
• Participate in project meetings.
