Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Metairie, LA is seeking a CAD Drafter to join our Nuclear Power Group on a hybrid schedule, combining in‑office collaboration with remote work.

You will develop design drawings from input, expand drafting skills in 3D CAD environments, and prepare master sketches showing how proposed installations fit with existing facilities.

This role offers hands‑on training, coordination with vendors, and opportunities to accompany experienced designers on client site visits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in drafting/technical field or equivalent experience.
• Ten years of design experience.
• Advanced drafting with CAD tools (e.g., MicroStation).
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and related design tools.
• Ability to multitask across projects.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and creating design drawings within a multi‑discipline team.
• Apply CAD skills and training in 3D design environments.
• Create master sketches to scale showing installations and dimensions.
• Assist designers on client walkdowns to gather design data.
• Explain drawings to vendors/contractors for design adjustments.
