Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced designer/drafter for its Nuclear Group in a hybrid work arrangement. You will contribute to designs for advanced reactors, renewables, and SMRs, focusing on electrical raceways, cable trays, and mounting locations.

You’ll expand CAD skills in 3D environments and collaborate with engineers and designers on drawings based on design inputs. The role emphasizes walkdowns at operating facilities, vendor interfacing, and clear communication of design intent to

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting or HS diploma with equivalent design experience.
• 8+ years drafting/design experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
• Ability to multi-task from project to project.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
• Utilize CAD in multi-disciplinary teams to prepare design drawings from input data.
• Apply CAD skills in AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation; training provided where needed.
• Perform walkdowns in operating nuclear plants to gather information for design work.
• Interface with vendors/contractors to discuss and implement design changes.
