Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a draftsperson to join its Nuclear Power Group on a hybrid schedule mixing in-office and remote work in Metairie, LA. You will refine design drawings for multi-discipline projects and expand your CAD skills in 3D environments under experienced designers.

Responsibilities include creating master sketches to scale, collaborating with vendors and construction teams, and translating design input into precise specifications.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical area including drafting or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience.
• Ten or more years of design experience.
• Advanced drafting experience using MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
• Knowledge of MicroStation.
• Ability to multi‑task from project to project.

Responsibilities

• Drafting in a multi-disciplined team environment with engineers and designers.
• Expand CAD skills in 3D design software environments.
• Create master sketches to scale showing relationship of installations to existing facilities.
• Accompany and assist designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information.
• Explain drawings to vendors/construction teams for design adjustments.
