Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to lead a design team on EPC power projects. The role focuses on developing electrical raceway systems, coordinating with multi-discipline teams, and guiding construction-driven engineering to ensure safe, cost-effective outcomes.

You will mentor designers, manage budgets and schedules, and interface with construction to ensure constructibility. Strong 3D conceptualization and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years’ experience in electrical design.
• Experience leading electrical design teams.
• Experience managing budget and schedule.
• Power generation experience, preferred.
• Experience in SmartPlant 3D.
• Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment.
• Ability to work in a growing, adaptive and multi-discipline team environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of electrical designers in developing electrical raceway systems.
• Manage electrical design activities against project schedule and budget.
• Track and report design progression to project management.
• Complete monthly reports for quantities, schedule and forecasting.
• Interface with construction to ensure design is safe, constructible, and low cost.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, engineers and construction on the design.
• Check design deliverables for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes.
• Coordinate with project team using the Project Database workflows.
• Complete miscellaneous tasks to support project development.
• Act as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution.
• Mentor design team.
