Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Lead Electrical Designer for EPC power projects. You will manage a design team, develop electrical raceway systems, and interface with engineering and construction throughout the project life cycle.

The role requires strong 3D design skills (SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD or MicroStation), experience with NEC standards, and the ability to lead a design team in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience in electrical design.
• Power Generation experience preferred.
• Experience in SmartPlant 3D.
• Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Experience designing cable tray from concept to completion.
• Experience in grounding systems.
• Experience utilizing the NEC.
• Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment.

Responsibilities

• Design cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion.
• Perform NEC-based conduit and tray sizing calculations.
• Route electrical cables in 3D to generate a cable schedule.
• Layout electrical equipment in buildings and develop 3D models.
• Check 3D models for interferences and constructability.
• Collaborate with disciplines, engineering, and construction teams.
