Job summary

PROGRESSIVE COMPANIES is seeking an experienced electrical engineering leader in Durham, NC to drive the design of complex projects and serve as the technical authority on electrical code and standards. You will own quality reviews, set documentation standards in Revit and AutoCAD, and be the primary technical contact with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on the firm's most complex projects, acting as engineer of record and delivering PE-stamped designs and specifications that meet client goals and code.
• Act as the firm's technical authority on electrical code and standards, representing the firm with officials and tracking code directions in NEC, IEC, and international standards.
• Own the quality review of complex electrical documentation, reviewing drawings, calculations, and specifications for accuracy and compliance before submission.
• Set the discipline's documentation standards in Revit and AutoCAD, establishing and maintaining unified document appearance across offices and teams.
• Be the client's primary technical contact on assigned projects, translating design strategy for clients, facilities directors, and contractors and delivering reports and presentations that drive decisions.
• Make the hard technical calls that protect the schedule and the firm, leading cross-disciplinary teams and surfacing risks early; lead field inspections to ensure built work matches design intent.
• Build the depth of the electrical team by mentoring engineers and designers, leading Lessons Learned sessions, and serving as a technical resource for major decisions.
• Bring in new work through your professional network by staying visible in the industry and past clients to convert relationships into opportunities for the firm.
