Job summary

IPS in Cary, North Carolina seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive design for complex life sciences facilities. You will lead projects from feasibility through detailed documentation, supervise a design team, and coordinate with clients, code officials, and other engineers.

The ideal candidate has 10–12 years of electrical design experience, strong AutoCAD/Revit skills, and proficiency with SKM/EasyPower. PE preferred and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• 10–12 years of engineering/design experience in building design.
• Expertise with AutoCAD/Revit and electrical calculations (SKM, EasyPower, AmpCALC).
• 4 years of experience leading engineers and designers on projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects across all design phases, including feasibility reports and detailed design.
• Perform electrical sizing, short circuit, arc flash, and load calculations.
• Coordinate with clients, code officials, and project teams.
• Review budgets, manage scope, and advise on staffing to PMs.
• Ensure compliance with codes and company design standards.
