Job summary

RevCats in Raleigh/Durham, NC is seeking experienced electrical engineers to lead complex design and construction-administration efforts in a contract-to-hire arrangement. Four positions are available with a pathway to permanent roles after six months.

The role requires a PE-preferred background, extensive experience with power distribution, renewables, and code compliance, and a strong ability to mentor junior staff while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 15+ years relevant experience post-grad and/or 10+ years licensed experience.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and standard technical tools.
• Advanced electrical code and regulatory knowledge.
• Experience with complex power distribution, renewables, and mission-critical infrastructure.
• Strong design, problem-solving, communication and mentoring skills; PE licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex electrical engineering projects from concept through completion.
• Develop electrical designs and specifications.
• Lead construction administration, RFIs, shop drawing review, and field inspections.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, clients, consultants, and agencies.
• Analyze feasibility and risk.
• Review documents for quality and code compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve design practices.
