Job summary

Burns & McDonnell's Raleigh office seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead design teams on diverse projects, including commercial, educational, healthcare, and industrial facilities. You will guide design through conception to construction, tailoring electrical plans to client budgets and needs.

You will prepare equipment specs, RFQs, bid summaries, and procurement recommendations while reviewing vendor drawings and coordinating with other disciplines.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in electrical engineering or related field with 3+ years of electrical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design from concept to design completion per project needs and PM specifications.
• Prepare electrical equipment specifications, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings; interface data with suppliers, clients and other engineering disciplines.
• Develop project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning; manage change orders.
• Apply electrical engineering standards, codes, and procedures to complex projects.
• Produce and review CAD drawings and project data; ensure QA/QC across disciplines.
• Coordinate field inspections, measurements, calculations, and testing of electrical systems.
• Lead client and contractor relationships; present technical reports and proposals.
• Develop cost proposals and qualification statements to meet targets and standards.
• Prepare budgets and report project performance; mentor junior engineers.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and company/site procedures.
