Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer (Remote) to join a team of engineers focused on high‑quality, value‑add solutions and career growth. You will lead electrical design for major subsystems, translate requirements into robust designs, own schematics and BOMs, and drive reviews and testing across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of industrial experience in electrical design or electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, conversion, monitoring, controls and system integration.
• Experience designing specs for switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks, and generators.
• Experience selecting and validating electrical components using NEC, UL, and derating criteria.
• Proven experience with design documentation, reviews, testing, validation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems and product areas.
• Translate system requirements into practical, robust electrical designs.
• Own schematics, drawings, calculations, specifications and BOMs.
• Drive design reviews, trade studies, prototype builds, testing and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, sourcing, quality and project teams.
• Mentor early career engineers and reinforce electrical design standards.
• Support project planning, effort estimation and execution.
• Contribute to projects that impact communities across North America.
