Applied Engineering seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to lead design and validation for major subsystems, translating requirements into robust electrical solutions. You will own schematics, BOMs, and drive design reviews while collaborating with mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical design, strong knowledge of power systems, and the ability to travel up to 20% in the USA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of industrial experience in electrical design or electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, conversion, monitoring, controls, and system integration.
• Experience designing specifications for switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks, and generators.
• Experience selecting and validating electrical components using NEC, UL, and industry derating criteria.
• Proven experience with design documentation, reviews, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for electrical power solutions.
• Ability to travel up to 20% within the USA.

• Drive design reviews, trade studies, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Mentor early‑career engineers and reinforce electrical design standards.
• Support project planning, effort estimation, and execution.
• Stay current with advancements in power systems, microgrids, renewable energy, and power conversion technologies.
• Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners.
• Contribute to projects that impact communities across North America.
• Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation.
