Job summary

Johnson Controls in Largo, FL is hiring an Electrical Engineer to lead electrical analysis, detailed design, and control for HVAC equipment with global collaboration across production, lab, service, applications, and marketing teams.

The role is onsite with relocation support; US citizens or permanent residents will be considered. ULS standards, BOM management, and CAD design are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering theory, design, and application.
• Ability to create electrical wiring requirements and interpret drawings and diagrams.
• Experience with bill of materials structures and databases.
• US citizen and/or permanent resident of the US.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement UL electrical safety standard requirements.
• Create and maintain agency listing reports for electrical/electronic/control equipment.
• Execute design improvements to optimize manufacturability and product quality.
• Develop designs for custom HVAC equipment based on customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain electrical engineering design and documentation standards.
• Support marketing, sales, applications, manufacturing and service teams.
• Design electrical wiring schematics and control requirements.
• Assist with material resource planning (MRP) for electrical components.
• Define and perform product prototype builds and evaluations.
