Job summary

Johnson Controls in Largo, Florida is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead electrical analysis, detailed design, and control of HVAC equipment. You will collaborate with production, lab, service, applications, and marketing teams globally, with relocation support and onsite work in Largo.

The role emphasizes UL electrical safety, wiring schematics, BOM management, and support across engineering disciplines to deliver market-leading products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• Ability to create electrical wiring requirements and interpret drawings/diagrams.
• Experience with bill of material structures and databases.
• Preferred 3D CAD design experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience creating two dimensional electrical schematics with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical wiring schematics and control requirements for HVAC products.
• Develop agency listing reports and ensure UL/electrical safety compliance.
• Support manufacturability improvements and product quality initiatives.
• Provide technical direction to marketing, sales, applications, and service teams.
• Coordinate prototype builds, testing, and vendor evaluations.
