Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Largo, FL is seeking an Electrical Engineer to perform electrical analysis, detailed design, and control for HVAC equipment. You will collaborate with production, lab, service, applications, and marketing teams globally to deliver market-leading products.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, knowledge of electrical theory and wiring requirements, and BOM experience. Preferred: SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering theory, design, and application.
• Ability to create electrical wiring requirements and interpret drawings and diagrams.
• Experience with bill of materials structures and databases.
• US citizen and/or permanent resident of the US.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement UL electrical safety standard requirements.
• Create and maintain agency listing reports for electrical, electronic and control equipment.
• Execute design improvements to optimize manufacturability and increase product quality.
• Develop designs and solutions for custom HVAC equipment based on customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain electrical engineering design and documentation standards.
• Support and provide technical direction for marketing, sales, application, manufacturing, and service of HVAC equipment.
• Design electrical wiring schematics and control requirements for products.
• Oversee lab testing and create test plans for motors, controllers, heaters, and components.
• Assist with evaluation of vendors and new components.
