Job summary

Search-Leaders,-LL is seeking a senior controls engineer in Plymouth, MN to lead development of sophisticated electrical control systems and to advance into engineering management. You will mentor engineers, drive cross-functional collaboration, and shape departmental processes while traveling for project installation.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical/Systems/Computer Engineering.
10+ years electrical controls experience (or 7+ with MS).
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, motor controllers.
Proven leadership and mentoring of engineers.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (5–10%).

Responsibilities

Lead design of complex electrical control systems.
Direct design docs, schematics, PLC/HMI programming, field installation, commissioning.
Foster collaborative, accountable engineering culture and knowledge sharing.
Coordinate across disciplines and stakeholders to ensure project success.
Develop and maintain departmental processes aligned with standards and quality.
Drive cost control, efficiency, and quality improvements in deliverables.
Support budgeting, scheduling, and scope management for projects.
Provide technical leadership during system startup and maintenance.
Guide engineers on architecture, reviews, and tool adoption.
